This regulation arises from the need to simplify and unify the community rules relating to lighting products. In addition to introducing new standards, it integrates in a single text, the so-called “Single Lighting Regulation”, all the regulations and amendments of European Ecodesign.

The aim is to ensure uniformity of the products marketed by ensuring safe, sustainable and competitive energy also through greater efficiency of the lighting devices, with the aim of reducing energy consumption by 20% per year.
